Havanna has launched two new special editions of its “Mar del Plata” line: the Playa Grande and Playa Bristol alfajors, created as a tribute to the city where the brand was born and two of its most recognizable tourist icons. This bet repeats the formula that years ago generated long lines of tourists trying to get the alfajor with sea salt and double dulce de leche. The Playa Grande is a 90-gram alfajor filled with sea salt, double dulce de leche, and white chocolate ganache. Its finish of white chocolate and caramelized sugar reinforces its sweet profile and positions it as one of the most indulgent proposals in the line. In the case of Playa Grande, Havanna took inspiration from the Golf, Ocean, and the characteristic landscapes of that area of the city. Also 90 grams, the alfajor is filled with dulce de leche with a white chocolate crème brûlée-style ganache heart, accompanied by sea salt flakes and a dark chocolate coating, designed to balance the sweetness. The new additions to the Mar del Plata line officially went on sale on December 27 with the following launch prices: $3,500 per unit and $28,000 for a box of eight units. Unlike other brand products, the Playa Grande and Playa Bristol alfajors are only sold in person at stores on the Buenos Aires Atlantic Coast and, for now, cannot be included in mixed boxes. It is not ruled out that, once the summer season is over, they may be incorporated into the online store, as happened with the original “Mar del Plata” alfajors that years ago set a trend with their innovative sweet-salty profile. This time, the company once again targeted the Argentine sweet palate, but clearly differentiating the identity of each product. “With the names they have, it was almost impossible for Playa Grande and Playa Bristol to be similar,” highlight the brand, in tune with the spirit of both beach resorts: distinct from each other, just as their gastronomic proposals are.
